I also think that the rooms for the permanent exhibits are too small, too dark and too crowded. It's hard to see even a fraction of the art but I suspect that's also a political decision as well as one necessitated by the historical nature of the building. They could not tear it down and start over so the Beaux Arts columns, the grand central staircase, even the painted and decorated ceilings had to be kept. Another one of the reasons given for moving the museum was to gain more space for the collections and by gum, those collections will be on display. All of them. All of the time.
Do not overload it especially by consuming excess alcohol or too many diet sodas. Foods laden in bad fats and sugar will also have an adverse impact. Eating more well washed fruit and vegetables will help especially apples, carrots and beetroot. You could try combining all three in a juice. Drinking more water will also help as it will flush the toxins out of your system quickly, before they have a chance to do more damage. You could also try a liver detox every so often in order to give it a helping hand.
Of course, one of the most impressive aspects of the decor is still the oldish sandstone, 1850's building where the bar is located. Out the front, there is a rack where you can either leave your bikes or borrow a vintage one to ride around the city. The entry is nicely decked out with pot plants and sweet flowers giving an element of romance. They've gone enviro too, with recycled office carpets draped across the floors, old farm tables and church pews, adding to the bohemian chic feel of the place.
Of course, when you're getting so many great books so inexpensively, it's only a matter of time before the books you own outgrow the storage space that you have for them. When it comes time to weed out your collection, you have to decide what you want to do with the books you are no longer able to keep.
Speaking of the story, each chapter starts off with a small bit from the Grimm Brothers' version and then the rest goes on to show you the "real" story, the part where Wrede weaves together the random elements that made little sense in the original. Wrede masterfully captured the shifting nature of fairy tales and folk lore and then wrapped it around history like it belonged there in the first place.
But I got over my snit. As I went to exhibit after exhibit and got to know some of the staff, I gained a new respect for what they were trying to do. I have never had any problems appreciating the beauty of Asian art and culture. Although I feel that it was better displayed in the old location, with the windows overlooking the park, I always find a new treasure at every visit to learn about, enjoy (and covet!). Their publications are marvels of Book design and elegant writing. The cafe serves delicious food and their programs are an enjoyable mix of outreach to the younger crowd with plenty of more intellectual lectures for us "older folk." I even like the redo of the balcony where the Piazzoni murals used to be!
The cocktail list consists of old school drinks. They've got loads of sour ones and I'm a little disappointed as I'm more of a sweet drinker. https://inlebao.com/In_Lich_Tet.html 'm also pretty annoyed that the drink I order isn't available and when I opt for something else, I'm told that isn't available this evening either. Not happy Jan! Nevertheless, my Aviation is fine. I then have a Big Fine Girl Riesling from the Clare Valley [$11].
But no matter what many may think, you should still buy a toy that fits in the age range of a toddler. If you buy a toy that isn't, there is a large possibility that the child wont like it. Also, try not to buy toys with detachable parts because the child might swallow it.
