Many people advocate giving yourself a little "treat" now and then. I think that to have only a small treat of something you crave so much is dangerous and always leads to eating more. That has always been the case for me. I don't eat it now and haven't for a long time. I don't miss it either! So be strong. Your cravings will diminish completely after a few days or so.

Eat regularly to avoid getting overly hungry. Five mini-meals spaced out throughout the day may work best. But if that is too hard to accomplish go for three main meals with two healthy snacks.

With the advent of same day flower delivery, you don't have to worry about missing that special occasion. The cost of arrangements made with imitation flowers can be as much as a fresh arrangement, or more. However, the cost should be viewed over the total time period the arrangement will be enjoyed. At nine years old I'm figuring he should be able to self-regulate; control his thoughts, his body; manage his time efficiently. Don't all kids know how to do this when they hit age nine? Apparently not. My ranting and raving were to no avail, and only made my son tune me out. So instead of yelling and nagging about what needs to be done, here are three simple ideas I implemented that have really eased the tension.

Send a photo. If you're the brave type you could always send him a naked picture of you to his mobile phone with a caption which says something like "I love you this much". Two points with this one - make sure you put his name in the message (in case he thinks you're having an affair) and always make sure you send it to the right number.

Some books have sounds and they recite nursery rhymes. Some have pop-ups and fur for the kids to touch. It is better for parents to read to their child, to show the child that learning is very much important.
